Depending on the history of Zhuang , my thesis attempts to investigate the ethnic memory of Zhuang in an all-round way. The memory is very useful, because they contribute to forming the self-representation of the ethnicity. Have investigated the transmittance process in Zhuang society of ethnic memory in my thesis, which have offered comparatively rational exposition for history of Zhuang and current situation . There are two kinds of existing ways in the ethnic memory of Zhuang : incorporeal memory and inscribed memory. In different historical stages, they strengthen or weaken the self-representation of the ethnicity. In the early days of the ethnicity, they had no their own characters . So the body becomes main media of accumulating and transmitting memory, incorporeal memory plays a key role in safeguarding the self-representation of the ethnicity. On later stage of history of ethnicity, they have had their own characters . Gradually, the proportion of inscribed memory in ethnic memory increases. The inscribed memory has accelerated the completion of the self-representation of Zhuang. However, the fact that the characters of Zhuang are learn from surging cultured, inscribed memory is transformed by surging culture. The inscribed memory has a negative impact on self-representation of Zhuang. Surely because that Zhuang adheres to the traditional memory transmission way, the inscribed memory is not the only way to transmit memory. The memory transformation imposed by surging culture is confined to limited range, the self-representation of Zhuang has been kept and inheritted basically.
