Family Economic Capital's Impacts On College Students' Academic Achievement

With the development of the national,families belong to different social strata show obvious differences in economy,politics,culture and social connection.The traditions regard family and blood relationship as important,parents try their best to help children accept higher education,inherent family capital is bound to participate in making an impact.Naturally,different socioeconomic status families show a significant gap in the availability of educational resources,education unfair problem is appearing.College has a important impact on establishment of values andpreservation of social information.Therefore,we focus on exploring the relationship between family background and school performance.It is designed to help students who are from the lower classes of society strata to find ways to solve individual development problems.This study choose the perspective of economic capital,one is material economy as the basic conditions for students life in school,family for economic capital ownership shows a certain extent affect to students' lifestyles and academic achievement;Second,select a single perspective to make research more dedicated.In addition,expanded the concept of academic achievement,includes pre-learning input and participate in activities,research content can be more comprehensive.This suudy based on social stratification,reproduction theory and education equity theory,including descriptive statistics,correlation analysis and regression analysis.Comparative of two groups students about family economic capital and academic achievement differences,then economic capital impacts analyze.The results show,there is asignificant difference in economic capital and academic achievement between get the national assistantship group and not get national assistantship group,the latter is better than the former,and family economic capital can significantly affect learning input,scholastic attainment and activity participation.In particular,when father's career or annual income at a high level,children are more likely to show a positive learning input status,so their scholastic attainment is usuallybetter;honors number is usually more than who father's career or annual income at a low level.As for group participation dimension,family economic capital only has a clear influence on student organization participation.Gender and household registration do not have a directly effect on academic achievement;only the group factor will significantly affect the learning input and scholastic attainment,not get the national assistantship group compared to get the national assistantship group,show a more active learning input and excellent scholastic attainment.Study presents problems still existing in the development of education,author tries to make a few suggestions from the government,the school and the individual,hoping find the most suitable method for disadvantaged students to achieve satisfactory academic results and future development.(1)Government level:improve low social level's annual income,and popularize the importance of universal family education.(2)School level:equal teaching,differential treatment and disadvantaged assistance,in order to strengthen student management.(3)Individual level:set academic goals and strengthen learning belief,and strive to develop themselves.
