If a nation is willing to stand rock-firm in the family of nations,she must strengthen cultural self-confidence and soft power.Since the 18 th CPC National Congress,General Secretary of CPC Xi Jinping has stressed for many times that if we Chinese people want to hold a firm position in the world culture,we must promote excellent traditional Chinese culture education.The Chinese literature education is the media for promotion of excellent traditional Chinese culture.And as key part of traditional Chinese culture,the classical Chinese literature,namely ancient poetry and prose,not only help students acquire the essence of the language,but also equip them with fine character.The classical chinese literature contains the spirit of thousands of years of Chinese culture.In September 2016,the Ministry of Education of China issued the new edition of the Chinese textbook for junior middle school students,which highlights excellent traditional Chinese culture education by adding texts of the classical Chinese literature.And based on the "Ministry Edition" Chinese textbook,the essay is going to discuss how to promote the essence of traditional Chinese culture by teaching classical Chinese literature.The essay sticks to both the essence and development trend of education,for which the writer has done academic references,surveys,and interviews.The essay is composed of three parts.The first part is Preface,which introduces the background and objective of the study,and also the status of other similar studies.The preface provides definitions of some concepts and gives a brief introduction of the theories,contents and methods of the study.The second part is the main body of the essay which comprises 4 chapters.Chapter 1 expounds the feasibility of infiltrating excellent traditional Chinese culture education into the teaching of ancient Chinese poetry and prose by introducing official documents and psychological theories,the advocacy of socialist core values,and discussing the value orientation of humanism in Chinese curriculum and the all-round development of students.This part also expounds the necessity of infiltrating Chinese excellent traditional culture in the teaching of ancient poetry and prose in junior middle schools from four aspects: national level,Chinese curriculum standards,the development of students' literacy and the status quo of inheriting excellent traditional Chinese culture.Chapter 2 mainly elaborates the ancient poetry and prose catalogue of the "Ministry Edition" junior middle school Chinese textbook and the excellent traditional Chinese culture.Firstly,it analyses the compiling principles and main characteristics of the "Ministry Edition" junior middle school Chinese textbook,and makes an analysis of the ancient poetry and prose catalogue.And then the paper analyses the connotation of Chinese excellent traditional culture in ancient poems and prose of the textbook from the aspects of knowledge content and spiritual content.Chapter 3 is about surveying and analyzing the current situation of infiltrating excellent traditional Chinese culture education into the teaching of ancient poetry and prose in local junior middle schools.It is found that the infiltration of excellent traditional Chinese culture education in the teaching of ancient poetry and prose in junior middle schools has achieved some results,but there are still many shortcomings,mainly in the aspects of teachers and students.This study makes a thorough analysis and concludes that teachers,students,families and society are the factors that have caused the current problems.Targeting problems found in the surveys,Chapter 4 expounds strategies of infiltrating excellent traditional Chinese culture education into the teaching of ancient poetry and prose in junior middle school.First of all,enhance the full cooperation of society,schools and family to help students get better education of excellent traditional Chinese culture.Secondly,teachers on one side can improve their professional capability by updating their educational concepts and acts,so as to become lifelong learners;on the other side,teachers should make full use of classroom teaching,focus on the objectives,deeply explore the contents of ancient poetry and prose,adopt diversified teaching and evaluation methods,and carry out various types of reading activities,so as to achieve the goal of infiltrating excellent traditional Chinese culture education into ancient poetry and prose teaching.Lastly,students should take their own responsibility of learning,continuously improve their ability to tell whether a culture is good,actively read classics and stick to moral principles.The third part is Conclusion,in which the writer introduces the outcomes and limitations of the essay,and discusses possible directions for further study on the topic.
