A Case Study On The Supply And Demand Situation Of Childcare Services In Cities

On January 1,2016,China has begun to thoroughly implement to two child policy.However,in the recent three years,China' birth rate does not increased explosively,even the phenomenon of “fertility rate does not rise but falls”has appeared,which aroused the deep concerns of all areas of society about the problem of 0-3 years old child caring.The pressure of living in cities is rapidly growing,the lacking of childcare system has become one of the main reasons for professional woman's “dare not to give birth” or “does not want to give birth”.Because of the high efficiency and specialization of the institutional childcare system,developing the relevant institutions is the best way to solve the problem of childcare system shortage.This research adopts case analysis as a research method,take Jinan's first professional daycare type childcare service institution M childcare institution as an example.During the two-month internship,using questionnaire method,interview,through the questionnaire and interviews with the director and teachers of M childcare institution,to know about the demand of parents and the supply of M childcare institution and the supply and demand situation of childcare service in city.By comparing supply and demand,to summarize the typical experience and deficiencies of M childcare institution,and analyze the causes,and put forward some useful implications in order make it's development faster and better.The final destination is to provide references for childcare institutions around,to crease the quality of childcare service institutions,to improve child's well development both physically and mentally,to solve the problem of childcare system lacking.The research instrument is the questionnaire Urban households for childcare service needs and expectations to collect relevant data.The questionnaire is invented by professor Guo Juncheng,Professor Zhang Yuanyuan,Professor Song Zhanmei from preschool education research department of Shandong yingcai College.This questionnaire has two versions,one is for the ones who enjoyed childcare service and another is for the ones who do not enjoyed childcare services.All the data were analyzed by SPSS 22.0.Through the research,it can be seen that M childcare institution can almost meet the needs of parents in terms of the supply of childcare services,and has the advantage of making parents trust: 1.The supports from the government.2.The age balance of the infants who enjoy the childcare services.3.The facility environment is tidy and safe.4.The guarantee of teacher's qualifications.5.The stable attachment between teacher and infants.At the same time,there aresome shortcomings of M childcare institution: 1.The tuition is much higher than the expectation,lack of popularity.2.The teachers and infant ratio is low.3.The environment did not make fully use of.4.The way of communication between family and childcare institution is unique,lack of parent-infant activities.The main reasons for the shortcomings: 1.The absence of relevant policies and supervising.2.The high fare for running the institutions.3.The communities' lack of understanding toward childcare institutions.4.The teachers' lack of experience.Therefore,according to the main reasons and problems,the author put forwards suggestions for improvement from the perspectives of the government and childcare service institutions.It is necessary to strengthen the organization and management of the institutions from the four aspects: improving the management system,reinforce management by supervising,construct high-qualified teachers' team,integrate educating and fostering and increase the quality of protection and education.This research takes M childcare institution as a typical childcare service institution,discussed the demands and supplies of cities' childcare service institution,analyse the satisfactory of parents towards childcare institutions.With the limitations of author's abilities,conducts difference analysis on satisfactory,understand the situation only.In the further researches,it is better to do correlation analysis and regression analysis on parents' satisfactory,to investigate to affective reasons for parents satisfactory,provide strategic draw up to childcare service institutions for reference.
