A Social Worker Intervention Study On The Safety Of "Little Migrant Birds"during Holiday

In 2016,since the"Opinions on Strengthening the Care and Protection of Left-behind Children in Rural Areas"was issued by the Chinese government,the attention of society has paid to the rural left-behind children has also been raised,and the problems of left-behind children in the scale,learning education,mental health,emotional supports and gender structure in rural areas have become the focus of attention.However,"little migratory birds",as a special category of left-behind children,seems to have been neglected.Recently,reports on the safety accidents of"little migratory birds"have frequently appeared on many kinds of media and social media platforms,and their security problems need to be solvedurgently.There was a professional internship by the author in T organization in the C Island community in Guangzhou in the summer holiday of 2017.During this internship period,the author had a lot of chances to contact with the"little migrant birds"in the community and communicated with their parents and experienced staff in the organization,because the organization was doing a project which was about migrant workers'children coming to the island to reunite with their family in this summer holiday.Meanwhile,through the method of field research to found that this group has many safety problems out of their familiar living environment.And then,it was deeply analyzed the reasons of these situations combined with ecosystem theory respectively from the individuals of micro level,the family and school of meso-level and the community and social environment of macro level.On this basis,the way of group work,which is one of the social work intervention techniques,was used to provide professional social work service for"little migratory birds"in order to enhance the safety awareness and self-protection ability of the“little migratory birds”who participated in the group.Furthermore,the complete processes of the group work,which are accept,estimate,plan,intervene,evaluate and closing the case,show the concrete operations and effects that are social workers intervene in the safety problems of this group.Finally,the research conclusions of this paper points out that the holiday safety problems of the"little migratory birds"should be taken seriously,and Social work can play an important role in the holiday safety of"little migratory birds"groups.In the intervention of social work,we can make full use of the resources of volunteer,which is from colleges and universities,and design the activity flexibly,and also select the form and type of group according to the actual needs of the group.In addition,this paper reflects and concludes on the practice process of the group work,which pointed out that there are some limitations of the group work on the holiday.safety issues of"little migratory birds"and the differences between the plan and the actual implementation in the practical process.It is necessary for the author to find out the commonness of the difference problem in the future research,and use the case work,the group work and the community work.
