Ethnology has always been more attention to minorities in the minority areas, but theresearch about Han nationality that migrate to the minority areas is relatively less. Ethnicinteraction has very important features of The Times, and Cultural Fusion becomes themain point of research in academic circles, then that is very necessary and meaningful toresearch immigrant Han.This paper focuses on Han group who migrate to Lhasa, exploring their special“migratory birds-birth pattern”.“migratory birds-birth pattern” is a kind of migratory birthpattern, refers to that Han women in Lhasa choose to mainland, where the altitude is lowerthan Lhasa, and the environment is better than Lhasa to birth their babies, after the babiesare born, mothers come back to Lhasa to work, and leave babies in mainland who are beentake after by relatives. On the basis of adequate questionnaires and in-depth interview, thispaper uses the theory of structure and function of anthropology to analyze the change inthe structure and function of immigrant Han families which are influenced by migratorybirds-birth pattern; in addition, this paper explore this birth pattern’s decision-makingpower and the role division from the gender perspective. This paper includes five chapters content. The first chapter introduces the concept ofmigratory birds-birth pattern、the research place、the research object and related birthpolicies; The second chapter shows and finds the present situation of migratory birds-birthpattern and reasons. The third chapter explores this birth pattern’s decision-making powerand the role division from the gender perspective; The fourth chapter evaluates the effectof migratory birds-birth pattern, discussing the change of structure and function in privatedomain, and the increase of “left-behind children” in public domain; The fifth chaptergives the summary conclusion.Through the use of the above method and theory, this paper comes to the conclusionthat some subjective and objective factors, such as local birth policies、special plateauclimate、the lack of family care and so on lead to migratory birds-birth pattern. This pattern’s decision-making power depends on couples’ co-decision mainly, which reflectsthat a wife has the same important family status with her husband in modern city family. Inaddition, men and women’s time distribution is subject to government’s maternity leavepolicy, but “mothers’ duties” still influence women’s minds.“Migratory birds-birthpattern” brings some problems. Firstly,“couple nuclear family” becomes the primaryfamily structure of Han immigrant family; Secondly,“grandparents raising family” areincreasing in mainland; Thirdly, special “left-behind children” will become a socialproblem.
