The Study On Xidian University Science&Research Project Managment Capability Based On Project Management Maturity Model

In the era of knowledge-economy,as the global competition is aggravated,the project management plays a key role in the market competition.The project management maturity model(PM3)is a systematic method of appraising the ability of organization in project management.It is very important for us to do research on it for improving the project management ability and the market competitiveness.PM3 is one kind of method and tool of appraising and improving our project management level to be used for project management organization.It shows the ability that an organization implement project successfully and reliably according to the predetermined project target and condition,it has provided one kind of the tool of developing the project management capability,it is a process that guide the project management capability while develop from low level to high level and project success rate improves unceasingly.With the aid of the PM3,the organization may establish a series of standards,Uses in to distinguish the weak link exist in management process,and through the solution of very important question to improves the management level to form the whole improvement strategy.Take Xidian University(XD)as example,this paper analyzed the problems and its causes in the project management.Adapting to the characteristics of XD,the suitable of Capiblity Maturity Model(CMM)was given firstly.Then according to the ideas of CMM,the XD-PM3,such as the contents and methods of science and reseach management and the application of the PM3 were set force.Next,the framewok of XD-PM3 and its Key Process Areas(KPAs)were expounded.At last,based on Organizational Project Management Maturity Model(OPM3),this paper appraising the ability of XD,puts forward solutions to the problems hoping to raise the level of management of scientific research project.As the paper shows,XD-PM3 provides a feasible path and tool for XD to improve its own competitiveness.
