Study On The Emotional Support Of The Rural Empty-Nest Elderly By Case Work

With the proceedingof social economy and urbanization accelerating,more and more teenagers flow over into cities to attend school,work or start a business,which contributes to the local economy developing in a large part and narrow the gap between city and countryside.However,this phenomenon brings into many social problems,such as Empty-nesters.Nowadays,with the aggravating of the empty nesters,the problem is much more difficult than poverty alleviation,as poverty is just a material problem,but for the empty nest elders,the problem is not just about material life but the emotional needs.In this study,the writer focuses on the elder living alone in G village,F city,Liaoning province.Through investigation,the writer analyzes the elder's emotional condition and finds that the elder has strong emotional need.However,she just gets little emotional support from family or the outside.Based on the actual situation,the writer classifies the emotional need of the person served,starting with the family information,interpersonal communication and social living environment of the person served,and find out that the person is mainly lack of the emotional support from the external environment.The author applies the aged society to support the relevant theory and explore how much emotional support she receives from her children,neighbors,relatives,community and government.Through six stages of case intervention service,and according to the emotional deficiency of the person served,corresponding emotional support should be provided.The author tries to help her to solve the problems together,at the same time,the author makes an assessment and summary to the result of the case intervention.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter mainly elaborates the background,purpose,theoretic and practical significance of the research.It expounds the relevant research about emotional support for the empty nest elders,which was done by the scholars both at home and abroad.What's more,it elaborates research that social work involves emotional support for empty nesters and defines the core concept of the paper.This article adopts No-Structured interviews and action approach.In this paper,the innovation is that individual case work is involved in the emotional support of the empty nesters.The second chapter mainly introduces the current situation and demand of emotional support,and analyzes the reasons of emotional deficiency.The third chapter applies the case work to the emotional support network,and explores the feasibility of case work in dealing with emotional support for empty nesters.The fourth chapter has a summary and reflection on the case work that is involved in the emotional support for empty nesters.Besides,it put forward suggestions and countermeasures to reinforce emotional support for the empty nesters.
