During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period,the National Strategy for National Fitness and the Healthy China Strategy were put forward.This action was taken so as to vigorously promote the fitness of the whole nation along with the importance and the development of sports,so that the society pays more and more attention to sports and public health.In order to expand the participation of mass sports,many sports have been launched.Due to the simplicity of required equipment and the flexibility of exercise time,marathon events have become the fastest growing mass sport.However,the rapid development will bring many problems.In order to protect the healthy and sustainable development of mass sports,we should strengthen the guidance and supervision of mass sports.To this end,a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the groups involved in the marathon is required.At present,the number of marathon events in China is growing rapidly,but the growth rate of participants is far lower than the growth rate of the number of events,and the regional development of the competition is uneven.This unevenness needs to be addressed in order to cultivate marathon participants,promote the balanced development of China's marathon participation;gain an in-depth understanding of the role of sports participation in the promotion of residents' sports consumption;further promote the participation of mass sports participation.The question to be explored in this study is what the characteristics of marathon participants are,what the status of participants is,and what factors affect their participation.Based on the multidisciplinary basis of education,sociology,and sports management,this paper uses the literature review method,interview survey method,field survey method,questionnaire survey method and mathematical statistics method to investigate the driving force leading to participation along with the various characteristics attached to these participants.The purpose of such was to conduct behavior surveys,understand the group characteristics of marathon participants,analyze the influencing factors of the group in the formation process,and make recommendations for the relevant management departments to refer to,and accordingly take targeted measures to cultivate ordinary.This in-depth process was conducted in order to effectively develop the public's habit of doing sports.Conclusion:At present,the social identity of marathon participants has different stages.Listing from the greatest to the least in terms of numbers that fall within these stages,they are: the Attachment stage,the Allegiance stage,the Awareness stage and the Attraction stage.Marathon participants have a higher overall level of social recognition and are in the stage of attachment.The factors affecting the social identity of the participants of the mass marathon are: social factors,including family and occupation;individual factors,including age and education level.At present,the participation of the participants of marathon is good.The frequency of participation in marathon activities is 3-4 times a week.The preferred distance ran by participants is ranges from 20 to 50 km.It is very possible to run atleast three times a week in the next three months.The behavior of marathon participants is more proactive and stabilizes.The factors affecting their participation in sports mainly include social identity,age,highest education,marital status;whether they have children and current occupations,and social identity has the greatest influence on sports participation,especially in future sports participation behavior.The higher level of the social identity,the more sustained and stable the participants' behavior is.The social identity and participation level of marathon participants in different organizations are different.The commercial running group Nike Running Club has the highest degree of social recognition,and the sports participation behavior is the most stable in the future;the private spontaneous running group has the highest weekly running total;the independent marathon Participants have the lowest level of social identity,are in the Awareness stage,and have the lowest level of participation in sports.Participants in marathons are not familiar with the professional social sports instructor,but they are eager and positive about the position.They believe that professional social sports instructors are required to guide the grassroots to carry out various physical exercise activities and guide the mass sports work.Carry out the system measurement and evaluation of residents.The running groups have coaches that act out part roles of a coach as a social sports instructor,giving marathon participants guidance and help in running.There are differences in the interaction between coaches and marathon participants in different organizations.The interaction between professional coaches and marathon participants in the Nike Running Club is better than that of private spontaneous running groups.It is more conducive to improving the enthusiasm of participants in physical exercise,and more attractive to the lack of exercise groups to join the fitness exercise activities.
