In 2014,the "Several Opinions of the State Council on Accelerating the Development of Sports Industry to Promote Sports Consumption" clearly stated that it encourages social forces to participate in sports undertakings,enhances the enthusiasm of social organizations to organize events,decentralizes the government,eliminates the approval of sports events,and the market is suddenly active.The large-scale sports events with strong participation and inclusiveness have been developed in a spurt.The number of marathons held in China in 2018 is the highest in the number of IAAF gold and silver bronze medals.However,from the current development status of the marathon,the marathon there are many contestants,the level of sports is uneven,and the motivation for participation is complex,which brings great challenges to the organization and management of the event.Some vicious incidents even seriously affect the safety and sustainability of the event.In order to further improve the service quality,organization and management level of marathon events and give full play to the positive social benefits of marathon events,it is very necessary to further study the motivation of marathon participants on the basis of previous studies.This paper selects Shanghai,which has the title of the capital of the event,as the survey site,and studies the motivation of the participants of the marathon,in order to propose suggestions for promoting the healthy and sustainable development of the marathon itself from the organization and management of the event,and guide the marathon participants to Active and healthy attitude to participate in the competition.This paper use the literature method to review and sort out the literatures on predecessors' marathon and the motivation of participation in the competition,and on this basis,defines the relevant concepts of this research,puts forward the research hypothesis,and determines the methods and preliminary methods used in this study.The research scale is determined;the questionnaire is pre-surveyed for specific subjects,and the scale used in this study is revised based on the previous scale.The revised scale is based on the 2018 Shanghai International Marathon participants.Distribute,recycle,and descriptive analysis,factor analysis,and regression analysis of recovered data.The results of the survey: 1.Through descriptive statistical analysis,it is found that the ratio of male to female is about 3:1;the participants are characterized by youthfulness,middle income and high education level;marathon participants have fewer locals.2.Through the factor analysis,the motivations of marathon participants are: health motivation,appearance motivation,social motivation,achievement motivation,ability motivation and psychological motivation.The influence of these motivations on the participants is health motivation>Psychological Motivation >Appearance Motivation > Competency Motivation > Social Motivation >Achievement MotivationThe results: 1.Appearance has a positive relationship with the running age of the runner;health motivation,appearance motivation and social motivation have a positive relationship with the runner's average monthly run;health motivation,social motivation,ability motivation and psychological motivation It has a positive impact on the number of games participating in the marathon.Based on the results,the study submitted opinions to the government,marathon organizing committee and marathon participants.Government perspective: 1.Reasonable allocation of resources;2.Establish and improve the mechanism of legal provisions.Marathon Organizing Committee: 1.Prevent cheating and ensure fairness of the event;2.Strict review;3.Improve humane care;4.Improve the medical security system.Participant's perspective: 1.Correct the motivation of the competition;2.Do what you can.
