Research On Talent Training Mode Of Local Engineering Colleges Based On OBE

The new technological revolution has profoundly changed the industrial structure and production methods in the whole society.This change will inevitably bring about a strong demand for the reform and innovation of higher engineering education.OBE,as an educational concept based on learning-out,is student-centered and emphasizes students' personal progress and academic achievements.It can cope with the new industrial revolution and the strategic needs of innovation-driven development in China,and change the training defects of traditional engineering education mode.As an important human resource in the strategy of "Made in China2025",applied engineering talents trained by local engineering universities largely restrict the speed and scale of industrial modernization process.In this context,it is of great theoretical value and practical significance to carry out the research on talent training mode of local engineering colleges based on OBE.This study analyzed the origin and development of OBE education concept and its introduction and absorption in China from a historical perspective,pointing out that the emergence of OBE engineering education model is the result of conforming to the trend of engineering education reform.By using the method of investigation and research,this paper conducts a questionnaire survey among local enterprises,engineering teachers,in-school students and graduates to understand the current situation of talent cultivation in local engineering colleges.Through analyzed the characteristics of OBE implementation,it is pointed out that there are some problems in the local engineering colleges training mode,such as inaccurate orientation of training objectives,excessive emphasis on basic knowledge in curriculum setting,neglect of students' personality development in teaching,lack of engineering practice ability of teachers,single evaluation method and excessive emphasis on learning results.Subsequently,it summarizes the experience of typical OBE talent trainingmodels at home and abroad,in terms of training objectives,curriculum system,teaching methods,teaching staff and evaluation methods,including Tianjin University,Shantou University,Harbin University of Science and Technology,Olin College and French School of Engineers.Finally,based on the current situation of Engineering Talents Cultivation in local engineering colleges and the advanced experience of typical OBE engineering talents training modes at home and abroad,several suggestions are put forward for local engineering colleges to construct OBE engineering talents cultivation mode: first,to clarify the training objectives and strengthen professional construction;second,to update the curriculum system and adjust the curriculum content;third,to reform teaching methods and attach importance to ability training;Fourth,to construct engineering teachers;Fifth,to construct student evaluation system.
