Under the influence of the new normal of China’s economy and innovation-driven strategies,the construction industry is also developing rapidly.How to inherit the "craftsman spirit" more effectively,cultivate excellent engineers and deliver high-quality engineering management talents for enterprises,is a new requirement put forward for the training mode of higher institutions and engineering management professionals.As a starting point,this paper is a research study on the training mode of engineering management talents in applied undergraduate universities.(1)From the perspective of applied undergraduate colleges,combining the characteristics of project management majors and the characteristics of applied talents,this paper has collated the educational theories of applied talent cultivation through literature research methods,mainly including cooperative education theory,ability-based education concept,and The "system-based" education theory,the "combination of teaching and practice" vocational education ideology,and the four training models of applied talents of "order form","segmentation type","production-learning-research cooperation",and "school-enterprise cooperation",Which has laid a theoretical foundation of this paper.(2)Through case studies and comparative research methods,we have conducted on-site investigations into the training models for engineering management professionals in the state-owned,independent,and privately-owned colleges and universities in the order of training objectives,curriculum setting,education and teaching,practical education,and professional teachers.Based on the in-depth analysis of the above five aspects and combining with the status quo,the current problems in the application of professional training of undergraduate colleges and universities for engineering management model have been summed up.Mainly include the abstraction of training objectives,modularization of curriculum,single teaching methods,unstable teachers and lack of guarantees for practical teaching.From the perspective of the government,schools,and enterprises,the main reason is that the traditional concept restricts the development of new policies,the main body of schools is biased,and lack of interaction between business and learning.(3)Through the literature research method and comparative analysis method,the outstanding advantages of the training model of applied technical talents in Germany,the United States and the UK have been thoroughly studied,and the comparison has been made from the personnel training objectives,teaching method,practice link,teachers’ resources,curriculum selection,professional evaluation and professional qualification identification and training system.Learn from the experience and gain new inspiration.There are mainly talents training goals,scientific positioning,flexible curriculum setting,innovative education and teaching systems,government-led,and deep integration of schools and enterprises.(4)Based on certain theoretical support,combined with the status quo of researched on the training mode of engineering management professionals in applied universities,problems have been found and the reasons have been analyzed.On the basis of the successful experience drawing from the training model of applied technology talents in Germany,the United States and the United Kingdom,feasible countermeasures to optimize the training model for engineering management professionals in China’s applied-type universities and colleges have been put forwarded.For reference,we propose to strengthen macro guidance,update educational ideas,improve education law and professional evaluation,establish a curriculum system for the docking of practice ability and engineering education,attach importance to practical education and improve the level of teachers.The purpose of this paper is to effectively promote the development of higher engineering education in China,deepen the discipline construction of professional engineering management,and improve the system and mechanism of engineering education,so as to provide theory and practice guidance for the application-oriented undergraduate colleges after the transformation to provide characteristic majors and first-class universities and consequently to promote the development of engineering and technical personnel,improve the training quality and international status of engineering management professionals.
