The Research On Mobile Phone Use And Life Satisfaction Of Dalian Female Migrant Workers

With the advancement of urbanization,migrant workers have gradually entered thevision of the media and the public.It is a special group that emerges from the tide of economic development in China.As an important economy,trade,industry,and tourist city on the east coast,Dalian has attracted a large number of migrant workers,and migrant workers have played an important role in Dalian's economic and social development.The living conditions and psychological needs of female migrant workers are also receiving increasing attention,but the existing research is still far from enough.This study aims to investigate female migrant workers in Dalian and use new media such as mobile phones and wireless Internet as an entry point to understand their psychological and behavioral preferences in social relations,emotional communication,and information acquisition.Besides,explore the use of mobile phones,life satisfaction,and parent-child relationships under new mobile media.At the same time,explore the role of new mobile phone media in this relatively vulnerable group.The respondents of the research are female migrant workers in Dalian.The research is focus on their mobile phone use and their life satisfaction,based on uses and gratifications theory,using the methods of literature review,interview and questionnaire,analyzing a sample of 327 Dalian migrant workers' gratification of mobile phone use.The results show that their gratifications on mobile phone use include immediate communication,online transaction,affection,mobility,relaxation and receiving information.There are positive correlations between their gratification of online transaction,affection and their mobile phone use.Besides,there are correlations between immediate communication,affection and their life satisfaction.There is a positive correlation between their parent-child relationship and their life satisfaction.The more frequent the use of mobile phone features,the more positive the evaluation of life satisfaction is.In the last chapter of the thesis,according to the results of the investigation and analysis,I propose targeted measures and suggestions for improving the life satisfaction of female migrant workers.From the perspective of ensuring the use of satisfaction in the use of mobile phones and the positive impact of parent-child relationships on life satisfaction,we must approach them.To ensure the satisfaction of the use of mobile phones,we must improve the infrastructure and environment for the use of mobile phones,and at the sametime strengthen media education and guidance for female migrant workers.The positive impact of parent-child relationship on life satisfaction is to make full use of mobile phone new media to maintain the parent-child relationship of female migrant workers.
