Regional cognition is an important aspect of the core literacy system of geography,the most basic cognitive method of geography,and the important content of geography learning.The regional cognitive ability is the method and ability to analyze,explain and forecast the characteristics,problems and problems of human-land and regional relations.The regional cognitive ability can understand the geographical phenomena and problems from the regional perspective and form the concept of regional development according to local conditions.Based on the needs of the times and reality,this study studied the current situation of regional cognitive ability in junior middle school geography teaching by means of questionnaires and interviews,and conducted practical exploration and experimental research on the relevant cognitive ability cultivation strategies in junior middle school geography teaching.Firstly,using questionnaire and online interview,it is found that most junior middle school students 'regional cognitive ability is not good and the regional cognitive level is low.Based on the teachers 'questionnaire and interviews,it is found that most junior middle school geography teachers do not implement the training of regional cognition ability well.Secondly,by reading the relevant literature materials,the author summarizes the strategies for the cultivation of cognitive competence in the geographical areas of junior high school,including the use of the catalogue of geographical teaching materials,the map of thinking and the map,the problem teaching method and the case teaching method,and the extra-curricular activities of the local geography.In the end,the author makes a comparison of the results of the experimental class and the control class to verify the validity and feasibility of the strategy for the cultivation of cognitive ability in the geographical area of junior middle school.
