| As China’s aging population continues to deepen,social and economic development and social progress accelerate,and the number of empty nest elder people grows day by day.The continuous increase in the number of empty nest elder people has also become a factor influencing social stability,bringing great influence on the development and construction of the city.Influence,this special social group urgently needs attention from all walks of life.The object of this study is the vulnerable group of empty-nest elder people in the X community in Urumqi City.Data are collected through questionnaire surveys,literature studies,and case interviews.Based on the actual needs of empty-nest elder people,the material economy and life of the elderly are taken into consideration.The social support status of the elderly is examined in terms of care and psychological comfort.Judging from the actual situation of the investigation,most of the elderly can obtain better social support in terms of material economy,but they are less satisfied with life care and spiritual comfort.The survey results show that in terms of formal support,the empty nest elder people mainly receives support from the government and the community on policies and economics.In terms of informal support,the elderly mainly obtain emotional comfort and life care support through the family of their children,and the neighbourhood support serves as a supplement.Improve the informal social support network for empty nest elder people.However,for the empty nest elder people,the existing social support system is still very weak,and there are still many problems that need to be solved.In terms of formal support,from the government’s point of view,there is still a shortcoming in the old-age policy.The feasibility,system,and coordination of the old-age policy also need to be strengthened.The investment in pension funds is insufficient;from the perspective of the community,the content of community service for the elderly is single.,The effectiveness of retirement services and the quality of service are low.In terms of informal support,from the perspective of children and relatives,there is a lack of support for empty nest elder people in terms of spiritual comfort and life care.The indifference of social relationships in today’s society also leads to the lack of opportunities for empty nest elder people to communicate with their neighbors.There is a lack of support for the level of life care.In view of the above phenomenon,this study starts from the perspective of social intervention and proposes that in terms of formal support,the government should increase financial input,introduce relevant regulations and policies,and improve the social security system.The community should increase service content,link resources,and meet the needs of empty nest elder people.At the informal support level,the support for empty nest elder people is very small.Social workers need to be involved in linking social resources to provide more support for empty nest elder people in spiritual comfort and life care.At the same time,they use social professional methods to promote empty nest elder people.Improve their own ability to deal with the two thorny issues of empty nest and old age. |
