A nation will prosper only when its young people thrive.As an important part of the youth group,college students should cultivate their sense of responsibility so as to better undertake their mission and responsibility given by history.In the “we media”era,there have been profound changes in many aspects especially communication technology and social ideology,and the cultivation of college students' sense of responsibility is facing great opportunities and challenges.Educators must base on the new era in order to grasp the changes in the connotation of college students' responsibility and current situation in providing education,and to adjust strategies for cultivating college students' sense of responsibility.In we media era,college students not only shoulder the basic four aspects of responsibility,namely that of the country,society,family and individual but they should pay attention to the unique requirements set by the era.As information disseminators,they should know well about and comply with relevant laws and regulations,spread objective messages and facts,respect others and protect those disadvantaged groups,and improve their self-cultivation of morality and so forth.As receivers of information,they should build up knowledge of the nature of we media and information,learn to identify and filter information from the media,and nurture the basic ability of supervising the media and so on.After investigation,it is found that the cultivation of college students' sense of responsibility has internal advantages and disadvantages,for instance,college students commonly approve the importance of fostering their sense of responsibility.However,they also feel a lack of understanding the specific contents of responsibility education.The “we media” era provides both opportunities and challenges to the cultivation of college students' sense of responsibility.For example,it supplies the public with new channels of communication while it poses threats to allow for excessive entertainment.In order to cope with those opportunities and challenges inthe “we media” era,the paper proposes corresponding advice for improvement,which mainly includes four parts.First,the SO strategy of combining internal advantages with external opportunities,requires the development of the awareness of using “we media” to cultivate students' sense of responsibility,of sharing high-quality experience of responsibility education via the media,and of relying on peer groups to strengthen the responsibility views of college students.Second,the WO strategy of using external opportunities as a starting point to overcome internal disadvantages: to strengthen university students' cognition of the specific contents of responsibility education,to use quality activities to guide college students to become active recipients and participants,and to enlarge the group of college students and their peers to join the study and cultivation of responsibility.Third,ST strategy that relies on internal strengths to offset external threats: to strengthen college students' sense of responsibility in the virtual world,to confirm the subject of the cultivation education,and to optimize the supervision mechanism of we media.Fourth,the WT strategy that faces the internal disadvantages and external threats to make active defense,specifically includes a refinement of the core concepts and perspectives of responsibility,a focus on the role of key communicators,and certain guidance to the recipients to help them actively monitor those messages they get from the media.
