Nowadays China's Internet industry is booming, and new media based on the Internet is also rapidly integrated into people's daily life.At the same time, with the reform and opening up,great changes have taken place in the social spatial structure, values and life style in rural areas of China, and the rural families,as basic social cells, have also undergone significant changes. The seasonal outflow of family members and the transformation of traditional value norms imply that the spatial basis and cultural foundation of intergenerational interaction in rural areas have changed. Therefore, scholars usually take the rural population mobility and the change of values as the starting point to study the intergenerational interaction in rural areas, but not enough attention is given to the new media that is shaping the daily life of Chinese residents. From the perspective of interaction theory, this paper makes a preliminary discussion on the rural intergenerational interaction under the new media environment by means of questionnaires, interviews and observation. It mainly includes the current situation and changes of intergenerational interaction in rural areas under the environment of new media and the influence of new media on intergenerational interaction in rural areas, and on this basis,it puts forward some suggestions for the improvement of intergenerational interaction in rural areas.Through the survey of the D village in Linzhou,Henan Province,it is found that the intergenerational interaction in the rural areas under the new media environment is the game between two kinds of forces:one is the moral sense formed during the long-term intergenerational interaction ritual-filial piety, which maintains the intergenerational interaction, and the second is the separation effect of new media in the specific intergenerational interaction scene. It is shown that the stratification tendency of the new media excludes the use of the new media by the middle aged and the elderly, and further affects the communication with their children. The individualized tendency makes the space for the communication of the family into the public space in private space and the depth of the private space. The behavior habits of offspring and parents formed by new media have the orientation of instrumental rationality, which makes the interactive content to produce "technical rules",which leads to the characteristics of low frequency and short period of the interaction between the children and their parents.in addition, the new media also satisfies the self-interest tendency of the offspring and their parents, which makes the formal ritualistic living room change to the forced and even failed interaction. The separation of intergenerational interaction by new media makes the emotional experience of intergenerational interaction tend to decline, while the filial piety culture maintains intergenerational interaction and tends to be stable under the separation of new media. But with the long-term accumulation of emotional experience of intergenerational interaction in specific scenarios,it will shape the connotation of filial piety. In view of the current situation and possible problems of the rural intergenerational interaction under the new media environment, suggestions are put forward from three levels, including the middle aged and elderly, the village and the society.
