In order to analyze the characteristics of primary school students' study pressure in grades 4-6 and to explore the relationship between pupils' study motivation, pressure and study performance, this research used the questionnaire method and used the “Learning Stress Questionnaire” and “Learning Motivation Questionnaire” as measurement tools.A total of232 students in grades 4-6 of a primary school in Dalian are selected as a research sample to analyze the characteristics of primary school students' study pressure in grades 4-6 and the relationship to study motivation and performance. The results show:(1)There is a significant difference in the study pressure of grade 4-6 pupils in terms of grade, region, and level of parental education. There is no significant gender difference. The survey results showed that the pressure of teachers in fourth grade primary school were significantly higher than those in grades 5 and 6.In terms of pressure on parents, the pressure on parents of urban students was significantly lower than that of rural students;the education level of fathers was “primary and below”,their parental pressure was significantly higher than that of fathers who had been educated to high school or above.(2)The total study pressure score of primary school students in grades 4-6 has a significant negative correlation with the scores of Chinese language and mathematics;there is a significant positive correlation between study motivation and Chinese language and mathematics scores;there is a significant positive correlation between pupils' self stress and study motivation.(3)The study pressure of primary school students in grades 4-6 significantly negatively predicts Chinese language and mathematics scores;primary school students' study motivation can significantly predict Chinese language and mathematics scores.(4)The study motivation of primary school students in grades 4-6 plays a regulatory role in study pressure and Chinese language, mathematic scores. The study performance of primary school students with low study motivation is greatly influenced by the study pressure. The greater the study pressure, the lower the study performance and vice versa. In contrast, pupils with a high study motivation have a relatively small influence on their study pressure. No matter how much stress is involved, their study performance does not change a lot.
