| In this study,82 children aged 4 to 5(41 boys and 41 girls)from four kindergarten in H city,Hubei Province,have been chosen as the research objects.By means of observational recording and direct interviews with research objects,the types,characteristics and influencing factors of private speech in free painting activities have been investigated.Through the analysis on private speech phenomenon in free painting activities,private speech could be divided into self-direction,mood expression,descriptiveness,word games and repeating,questions and answers,memory recalling and imagination,naming evaluation and motivation.Further analysis showed that private speech phenomenon in children’s free painting activities had the following characteristics: mainly self-directed and mood expression as supplement;colors are involved in all types;creative and reproducible.In this study,the factors affecting the children’s private speech have been studied.Painting duration had no significant correlation with private speech;the main effect on children’s gender differs significantly between self-direction(F=4.961,P<0.05),naming evaluation and motivation(F=6.134,P<0.05).The interaction effected between children’s gender and painting subject had not significant.Research on correlation analysis of private speech and painting expressiveness showed that the painting expressiveness positively correlated with given subject(r=0.218,p=0.218)and random subject(r=0.222,p<0.05).After analyzing the results of the research,the author made proposals as below:diversified painting environment should be created to enrich the children’s vocabulary and expression;activities of language and painting should be linked to improve children’s expression ability;interactive painting discussion should be arranged in a timely manner to promote children’s language communication skills. |
