The Study On Cultivating College Students' Public Spirit At The Present Times

With the establishment and improvement of the socialist market economy,the development of modernization,the promotion of networking,and urbanization,public space is expanding gradually,people' s activities in public life and public affairs are becoming more common and frequent.the property of people' s public social life is more and more clear.In the meantime,It is more important to build the common sense of value and public spirit of people,especially under the situation that the economic system is changing and old value system is stroked while the new value system has not yet formed.As a learning group which has wider knowledge,young college students have come to the stage of undertaking the responsibility of lives.College students' public spirit ascension is an important force in promoting social governance and an internal demand of building a harmonious culture and fostering civilized atmosphere.Public spirit is the product of the social and public life,which is based on social interaction,an altruistic concern for the attitude and behavior of the public interest.Civil society is the soil of the public spirit.The subject consciousness is the basic premise of the public spirit;public consciousness is the basic contents of public spirit;public reason is the essential requirement of public spirit;public concern is the inner motive force of public spirit;public participation is an important practice of public spirit and public interest is the value direction of public spirit.This study took 20 teachers and 20 students of Hang Zhou's colleges as examples of the present situation of the public spirit questionnaire survey research and summarized the present situation of college students' public spirit.From the two perspectives of the university educators and college students,the writer of this thesis tries to deep understand the current situation of college students' public spirit and the work the college educators have done to cultivate the students' public spirit.Through analyzing the interview data,about 35% interviewees hold that the behavior of college students' public spirit is good or some what better;42.5% interviewees hold that the behavior of college students' public spirit is just so-so;22.5% interviewees hold that the behavior of college students' public spirit is just not good or even bad.Most interviewees hold that in the aspect of subject consciousness,public consciousness and public participation,the students' behavior is good;however,In terms of public reason,public concern and public interest,they still need to improve.Using the qualitative research software Nvivo11 to deal with the interview data,the writer of this thesis analyze the interviewees of college educators and students.By drawing successful experiences from the experience of American College Students' public spirit cultivation,the writer put forward that the colleges should make the best use of the moral resources of the traditional culture of our country,by using the ‘Five Cultivation Mode' of establishing curriculum education,propaganda of public opinion,social practices,voluntary service activities to further enhance the educational goals of college students' public spirit.
