The Manila Declaration on World Tourism points out that “as a result of direct impact of the tourism on national society,culture,education,economy,and international relations,etc,the tourism is regarded as an activity which is of great significance to country life.” In recent years,along with the rapid development of market economy in our country,the national income has improved further,tourism consumption has become the first choice of more and more people to upgrade modern consumption,and tourism has become an important part of daily life of the ordinary people,and a well-deserved sunrise industry in the tertiary industry in our country.However,in contrast to the booming tourism industry,numerous tourism consumers' legitimate rights and interests have been infringed and the prosperity of tourism industry and the imperfect mechanism for rights protection have become the main contradiction,which restricts the healthy development of the tourism industry.With the rapid development of tourism,more and more problems are gradually exposed in the tourism market,in which protection of tourism consumers' legitimate rights and interests has becomes the most noteworthy problem,also a social research topic attracting most attention.The key to the healthy development of the tourism industry lies in whether tourism consumers' legitimate rights and interests can be sufficiently safeguarded.By comparing and consulting successful legislative experience on tourism in developed countries,the author holds that it is necessary to further improve relevant laws and regulations on the current protection of tourism consumers' legitimate rights and interests in our country so as to carry out the protection thereof from the perspective of law and to realize the healthy and orderly development of China's tourism economy.
