| The problem of the aging of population becomes more and more serious all over theworld in this new century. As to china, this problem had already affected its populationstructure of workforce severely, caused great burden on its society, and slowed the process ofeconomy development down. So we must pay our great attention to the legal protection ofsenior citizen legitimate rights nowadays.In the first part of the artical, it mainly introduces the basic connotation of the legalprotection of the legitimate rights and interests of the old people.And it analyses thetheoretical basis of the legal protection of their lawful rights and interests. What’s more, itdescribed the need to strengthen the legal protection of their lawful rights and interests inChina. It not only is in response to the acceleration of the process of population agingchallenged China even the whole world, but also is the inevitable requirement of building asocialist harmonious society and socialist society under the rule of law. Effective protection ofour country needs to face the problems of elderly lawfully obtained legally entitled to basicrights interests.The second part of the passage mainly analize China’s present stage of the legalprotection of the legitimate rights and interests of older persons as well as problems.
