Interpretation requires interpreters to be able to convey the speaker's verbal meaning and communicative intentions in a timely, efficient, complete and accurate way.In the interpreting process, listening,as the first step in the interpreting process and the primary prerequisite for producing the target text, plays a decisive role in the overall translation quality. Therefore, analyzing the process and influencing factors of listening and discerning comprehension in consecutive interpreting,so as to master the correct and effective ways of listening and discerning comprehension, and improving listening and discerning ability is the key to improving the overall interpretation quality. The author concludes that the factors that affect the effect of hearing discrimination can be classified into three factors:language level ability, energy allocation and illocutionary knowledge. This article takes the author's practice of English-Chinese consecutive interpretation in a mock conference as a case. The text of the mock conference is Ian Newton's speech on "The Impact of Covid-19 on Refugees".In this thesis, the author points out the problems in the author's listening and discriminating link, analyzing the three factors that affect the listening discriminating effect case by case, and gives the revised translation method. Finally, the author combines the above analysis, combined with the literature and the interpreting learning experience, from the two stages of pre-interpretation and interpretation,to deal with the above three factors, giving some strategies for listening and discerning problems, hoping to provide some useful advice for interpreters.
