A Study On The Teaching Of Online Games In Chinese Class

This thesis is based on the 14 online games used by the author in the children's class at the Confucius Institute in Krakow.Based on the Likert scale,the thesis investigates the degree of enjoyment and difficulty of the 14 online games among the students in the children's class,and analyzes in detail the problems,reasons,and teaching suggestions of online games in Chinese language teaching with the help of teaching cases.The first chapter of this paper discusses the background and significance of the author's topic selection at the early stage of the thesis,explains the definitions of "online games-assisted teaching" and "children" in this thesis,and expounds the author's views on game teaching,online game teaching theory,online games-assisted teaching and the Polish game teaching.Chapter 2 introduces the students in the children's class at the Confucius Institute in Krakow,the current teaching situation and the teaching of games,and identifies the games that need to be highlighted in this thesis by classifying the online games used by the author.Chapter 3 describes in detail five online games that the author considers valuable for discussion.The rules,interfaces,and lesson plans of the games are introduced,and the preferences and difficulties of the children's classes are analyzed.Chapter 4 describes the problems of online games in teaching Chinese as an additional language,provides some statistics on the output of the target language,and analyzes the problems from the perspective of the game site itself and from the perspective of teachers' teaching.Chapter 5 concludes the thesis,in which the author makes teaching suggestions in light of the problems in teaching,and suggests that teachers should pay attention to the amount of students' target language output,refine game links,make game teaching more communicative,incorporate more Chinese customs and culture,and give students rewards during online game teaching.
