The study of Chinese figures of speech is an important task for Chinese learners in the middle and advanced stages.Learning Chinese figures of speech well can not only improve Chinese communicative ability,but also help to improve reading ability and writing level.Chinese as a foreign language teaching material is a tool for foreign students to learn Chinese.The quality of the compilation of the teaching material will directly affect the students’ learning results.This paper selects the middle and senior teaching materials of the road to success,through the methods of literature,statistics,induction and discussion,makes an in-depth exploration and Research on the figures of speech in this teaching material,summarizes the culture behind the figures of speech,as well as the advantages and disadvantages of this teaching material in the arrangement of figures of speech,and puts forward its own suggestions.The paper is mainly divided into the following parts:The first part explains the origin and significance of the topic,the current research situation,research methods and theoretical basis of Chinese rhetoric,teaching Chinese as a foreign language rhetoric and the road to success.In the second part,based on the division of figures of speech in rhetoric fan fan by Chen Wangdao and modern Chinese by Huang and Li Ben,the author makes statistics and Analysis on the use of figures of speech in the middle and advanced stages of the road to success.The author also makes statistics on the contents of figures of speech in the textbook,and finds that the contents of figures of speech in the textbook are mainly embodied in history and culture,natural landscape,social activities and family life.In the third part,16 kinds of figures of speech are selected for research and analysis,including quotation,metaphor,parallelism,reduplication,contrast,antithesis,personification,exaggeration,nianlian,white description,imitation of sound,imitation of words,metonymy,euphemism,irony and taboo.By selecting some typical examples in the textbook,this paper analyzes the function of the use of figures of speech in language and articles.In the fourth part,based on the discussion of the comprehensive use of figures of speech in modern Chinese by Huang and Li,the author makes statistics and Analysis on the comprehensive use of figures of speech in the teaching materials of the road to success.In addition,some examples are selected from the textbook to analyze the reduplication,combination,application and combination of figures of speech.The fifth part explores the Chinese culture and writing tradition embodied in rhetoric.In the background culture,it is mainly reflected in the modest and peaceful concept of life,the euphemism and implicit speech expression habits,the harmonious and happy family culture,the unique and interesting traditional customs,the long and profound tea culture,the extensive and profound opera art;in the writing tradition,it is reflected in the writing technique of small words and big meaning,the emphasis on the exaggeration of momentum and atmosphere,the emphasis on the harmony and knot of rhythm The order of construction and the aesthetic orientation of advocating plant image.The sixth part summarizes the characteristics of textbook arrangement.This textbook has many advantages in the arrangement of figures of speech,such as rich varieties,extensive contents,concise exercises,etc.,but it also has some shortcomings,such as the lack of corresponding notes of ancient poetry,the lack of rigorous classification of figures of speech,etc.,for which the author puts forward corresponding suggestions.
