| In 2018,the Ministry of Education issued the English curriculum standards for senior high school,which proposed to cultivate students’ English key competency,namely,language competence,culture awareness,thinking quality and learning ability.This provides a brand-new perspective for the research of guided learning plan.Although there are many related researches on guided learning plan,there are few related researches that combine it with key competency.Thus,this thesis analyzes the current English guided learning plan to figure out the elements of English key competency involved in it,and the underlying restrictions.The proposes are to promote the organic combination of English key competency and guided learning plan,and promote the research of key competency in specific discipline to some degree.The research methods consist of case analysis,questionnaire and interview.Based on literature review,the author designed a framework to conduct case analysis,and analyzed 35 English guided learning plans in senior two.In addition,294 questionnaires were distributed to the students and 10 English teachers were interviewed.The findings are as follows:(1)Most of elements of English key competency can be found in guided learning plans.However,some of them still need enhancing,such as listening skills in language competence.(2)Most of the students are satisfied with the current guided learning plan.From students’ perspective,the author got a more objective understanding of the tasks that embodied English key competency inthe guided learning plan.(3)The factors that may restrict the integration related to the lack of attention from schools,teachers’ insufficient theoretical knowledge about English key competency,and the failure to set learning objectives based on English key competency.At last,the author provide suggestions for the design of guided learning plan in Hohhot No.1 High School according to English key competency,hopefully offering enlightenment to improve guided learning plan and cultivate students’ English key competency. |
