Writing is the embodiment of students’ listening,speaking,reading and other comprehensive abilities.Today,English writing scores have also been increased in the new round of college entrance examination reform,which put higher requirements on students’ English writing ability.However,there are certain problems in the teaching of English writing.Students feel bored due to the fact that they just memorize writing samples,which leads to a lack of interest in writing.In order to solve the problems,the researcher applied Guided Learning Plan teaching mode in English writing teaching.It is advocated in Guided Learning Plan teaching mode that teachers should distribute the Guided Learning Plan to students beforehand,which plays the role of “guidance” and enables students to preview in advance as well as attending lessons with questions so as to make lessons more purposeful.On the surface,it seems to provide students with opportunities to complete the teaching tasks ahead of time.Actually,it contributes to helping them transform and apply the knowledge internally.The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the following questions with the help of Guided Learning Plan teaching mode:1.What are the changes of students’ attitude towards English writing by implementing Guided Learning Plan Teaching Mode?2.What are the effects of Guided Learning Plan Teaching Mode on students’ writing ability?The experiment conducted in this thesis lasted for four months in one of senior high schools in Shenyang.Two classes were chosen by the researcher as Experimental Class and Control Class respectively.In the Experimental Class,Guided Learning Plan teaching mode was adopted while the researcher applied traditional teaching mode in Control Class.Then questionnaires,interview,pre-test and post-test were used as instruments to collect data,which were later analyzed through SPSS22.0.Through data analysis,the major findings are presented as follows: 1)By applying Guided Learning Plan teaching mode,students’ interest in English writing can be stimulated.2)The teaching mode of Guided Learning Plan has a positive effect on improving students’ writing ability.Based on the findings,some suggestions are offered in order to help students gain more interest in English writing so that their writing abilities can be promoted as well.
