With the building of the Belt and Road Initiative making progress,interactions between China and other countries are becoming unprecedentedly more than ever before.They have forged closer ties in politics,economy,and culture.Two-way visits between China and countries along the Belt and Road are also growing.The author,as a consecutive interpreter,worked in seminars held by International Cooperation Center,the National Development and Reform Commission.People who attended these seminars are government officials coming from developing countries along the Belt and Road.The author holds that interpreters should exert their subjectivity at utmost to pass on the information given by the source language speaker.At work,the author employed corresponding coping strategies to handle certain cases.This practice report is based on this experience of the author and intent upon discussing the subjectivity of the interpreter,during consecutive interpretation.This practice report starts with shedding light upon the notions and traits of consecutive interpreting and interpreters' subjectivity.Next,the author gives process depiction,including the preparation,on-site interpreting,and summary.After introducing the author's interpreting course,with ruminations upon the author's experience,his practice report seeks a way to completely leverage the subjectivity of interpreters,deploying a number of interpreting strategies,in an effort to boost the quality of consecutive interpreting.By writing this practice report,the author summarized the application of subjectivity in his cases and corresponding interpreting strategies.The author also reflected upon his mistakes and gained methods to improve himself.He hopes other trainee interpreters can gain inspiration and benefits in terms of employing subjectivity.
