The Consecutive Interpreting Practice Report On Trimble AX80 Training Courses At Inner Mongolia Aerial Remote Sensing Institute Of Surveying And Mapping

This article is a consecutive interpreting practice report on Trimble AX80 training courses at Inner Mongolia Aerial Remote Sensing Institute of Surveying and Mapping, mainly taking the Trimble AX80 software operating training teaching materials as the case study object of this article. Analyzing the typical problems found during the consecutive interpreting process, and exploring the corresponding translation strategies and solutions, are the main aims.In the chapter of task process, it focuses on the "translation preparation stage" and the "consecutive interpreting stage", describing author’s main responsibilities in the separated two stages.In the chapter of case analysis, under the "non-text" influencing factors, this report illustrates some typical cases, analyzing this consecutive interpreting practice task from three angles, that is, first, contrasting different strategies taken during the translation process by professional interpreters, non-professional interpreters in the professional field, and non-professional interpreters in the different field when processing professional technical information; second, amplification in the supplementing and explaining section and condensed translation in the discussing and communicating section; third, the repair strategies applied during the process of consecutive interpretation.Through the description of the project and the case analysis, the report draws the following conclusions:one is for the consecutive interpreting task in the special technical field, interpreters must do the preparation work well, communicate with related parties in time, and accomplish the task under the condition of correctly understanding the meaning of the source language; the other one is that in the process of consecutive interpreting process, especially professional training courses like this, interpreters need to be flexible to choose appropriate translation strategies, not formalized, and focus more on the accuracy of the output translation.
