As far as junior high school English subject is concerned,the existing homework types are relatively single,and there are few assignments being designed according to the different levels of students.Most students regard homework as a heavy burden.On the basis of fully comprehending the literature of homework at home and abroad,and under the guidance of Differentiated Instruction Theory and Multiple Intelligence Theory,this study proposes the TAILORED English homework concept.The main research questions of this study are as follows:(1)What changes have occurred in students' English learning autonomy and motivation after the application of TAILORED English homework concept?(2)What changes have occurred in students' English achievements after the application of TAILORED English homework concept? For this reason,the author conducts a 16-week educational experiment in Xiu Yan Huang Hua Dian Middle School in the fall semester of 2019,and selects 96 students in two parallel classes in Grade Seven as the experimental objects.In the experiment,Class 1 is viewed as the controlled class to apply the traditional uniform homework concept,and class 2 is tested as the experimental class to carry out TAILORED homework concept.The research instruments include questionnaires,interviews,tests,and case studies.And the data of the experimental and controlled classes in pre-test and post-test are analyzed through SPSS.The results show that the experimental class students' learning autonomy has improved;the average motivation score of the experimental class in post-test is2.3940 points,higher than the 2.0350 points of the controlled class;the average test score of the experimental class is 72.315 points,much higher than the 67.000 points of the controlled class.Therefore,TAILORED English homework concept is obviously effective for students to improve their autonomy in English learning,enhance their learning motivation,and significantly improve their English achievements.However,owing to the limitation of time and research capability,this article still has many deficiencies,such as the inability to guarantee the wide applicability of this concept,which are expected to be further explored.
