| Homework assignment is an indispensable part of teaching.In recent years,homework problems in primary and secondary schools have caused many disputes.In order to solve the problem,the general office of the Ministry of Education issued the Notice on Strengthening the Management of Homework in Compulsory Education Schools in April 2021.Effective and scientific English homework can promote the development of students’ language ability and consolidate teachers’ teaching effect.Through the investigation of the current situation of English homework design in junior middle school,this paper observes the current situation of English homework design,hoping to obtain some enlightenment and provide some concrete and feasible suggestions for the design of English homework.Based on the theory of Multiple Intelligence,English Key Competence and Zone of Proximal Development,this paper investigates the current situation of English homework design in three junior middle schools in Zhanjiang City by means of questionnaire,sample analysis and interview.The questionnaire used in the survey mainly refers to Wang Yuefen and Zhang Xinyu’s Dialysis Homework-Research Based on 30000 Data(2014),and studies the current situation of English homework design in junior middle school from five dimensions: function and attitude,content and type,amount and difficulty,design subject,students’ expectations and diversity of homework.This study aims to solve two questions:(1)What’s the current situation of English homework design in junior middle school?(2)What are the reasons for the current situation of English homework design in junior middle school?Through analysis of the research data,it is found that due to the stiff stereotype from teachers and some objective realities,there are some problems in English homework design in junior middle schools in Zhanjiang at present,including teachers have a one-sided understanding of the function of homework,rely too much on workbooks for homework arrangement,the types of homework are not rich enough,and also there lacks of personalized hierarchical homework and selective homework arrangement for students.Based on the above findings,the author puts forward five suggestions for reference,including establishing educational views of all-round development,broadening sources of the content of homework,enriching the types of English homework,designing hierarchical homework and providing optional homework. |
