A Report On The C-E Translation Of Online Novel Vengeful Girl With Her CEO

Recent years have witness scholar's efforts to explore translation activity from the aspect of cross-cultural communication.Escarpit's argument that “all translation is a creative treason” has underpinned the theoretical foundation of medio-translatology study.The report aims to analyze translator's both intentional and unintentional creative treason during the process of translation practice and explain how creative treason can be used to help the C-E translation of the online novel Vengeful Girl with Her CEO.The analysis shows that various types of creative treason are adopted to produce desirable intercultural effect of the translated text: 1)translator's personalized choice of translation principle affects the style and rendering of their translation.In this case,translator's principle could be divided into two main parts including domesticating and foreignizing translation;2)translator's improper understanding of both source and target culture results in unintentional errors and omissions.Meanwhile,original text's misspellings,logical errors and indecent plots lead to translator's intentional deletion or mistranslation to ensure the consistency and fluency of the translation;3)Translator,by creatively speculating what the author tries to say with the random and inexplicable combination of words,abridges and edits the original text or rebelliously rewrites the sentence in order to present a fluent and sensible translation for target audience.Medio-translatology is a newly establishing subject with most of its focuses fall on the study of translation and communication of classic literature.By adapting creative treason into online novel translation study,this research expects to help inspire the online literature translation and communication activities among different nations.
