Intercultural communication is a crucial part of English.With the development of teaching theories and the world communication,new curriculum standard has put emphasis on intercultural communication.The standard mention to cultivate students’ success on multiculture and the sense of different culture.High school English teaching should not only focus on basic language skills,but also encourage students to learn English through a language context.In such case,students acquire not only basic knowledge,but also communication ability.This research uses the questionnaire and interview so as to investigate the current situation of intercultural communication competence and students’ intercultural competence of grade one and analyzes the data to expect answers to the following questions: 1.What is the current level of high school students’ intercultural communication capability? 2.What are the ways for high school students to learn cultural knowledge? 3.How do English teachers cultivate students’ intercultural communicative competence?After the research of 297 grade one valid samples,the author found that: 1.The high grade students do not have a good command of intercultural communication knowledge.2.Students mainly learn cross-cultural communication and English cultural through teacher’s explanation.3.During class,teacher usually use case study and other forms so as to cultivate students’ intercultural communicative competence.Afte class,teachers usually use book report to cultivate students’ intercultural communicative competence.
