With the continuous development of information technology,the English curriculum for basic education has also changed,and higher requirements have been put forward for the teaching of English in primary schools.The traditional teaching method is difficult to meet the requirements of the current primary school English education,and it is impossible to catch up with the pace of informatization,nor can it reflect the concept of the new curriculum reform.Therefore,every elementary school English educator should think about how to continuously reform the primary school English teaching methods and improve the basic English education level through innovative teaching mode.The emergence of educational games has injected new ways of thinking and vitality into primary school English classroom teaching,providing new means for improving teaching quality,and also becoming a new teaching concept and a new teaching approach to accomplish the standard objectives of the curriculum.This paper investigates and studies the current situation of English gamification teaching in primary schools in J District of N City.The research methods adopted include questionnaire survey,interview,observation and so on.In the research process,the author first organized a questionnaire survey among teachers to investigate the frequency,attitude,purpose and method of using gamification teaching method to carry out teaching.The questionnaire was in the form of Lister scale,hoping to quantify teachers' attitude towards gamification teaching more accurately.Then,aiming at some problems with low scores in the process of questionnaire survey,teachers are selected to conduct interviews to understand the views and opinions of teachers on some controversial issues.Finally,observation is carried out in the classroom,and one example of novice teachers,mature teachers and excellent teachers is selected to observe and analyze the examples of gamification teaching in the classroom.On the basis of relevant theories and practical exploration,this paper mainly studies the current situation of the application of gamification teaching in primary school English classroom teaching,and makes an analysis of the reasons for the research results.The study finds that there are differences in teachers' understanding and attitude towards English gamification teaching in primary schools between regions and qualifications.The content and methods of gamification teaching are relatively single,the time and frequency of gamification teaching are not reasonable,and the teaching effect needs further verification.Although gamification teaching can play a certain role in English teaching,it still needs to adjust to the existing problems.Because the author's own theoretical research is not deep enough,the teaching practice is not rich enough,this research is still on the surface,I hope that in the future,this topic can be further studied in depth.
