With the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative,China's exchanges with other countries in the world are becoming more frequent and its international influence is increasing. In this context,it is particularly important to tell an inspiring story about China well and convey the Chinese voices throughout the world.Among them, the political texts have the mission of introducing China's governing ideas, principles and policies to the international community, reflecting its domestic development and establishing a good international image of the country. Therefore, the translation of political texts is of vital importance and has attracted more and more scholars' attention.Based on the theory of Eco-translatology and taking Xi Jinping: The Governance of China ? as an example, this thesis, through a comparative analysis of the Chinese and English versions, probes into the complex and changeable translational eco-environment of today's political texts and how translators adapt and make appropriate selections, especially in the adaptive transformation of linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions,so as to maintain an ecological balance between the source language and the target language. It is found that as a typical political text in the new era,Xi Jinping: The Governance of China ? has obvious characteristics of its times, and its translational eco-environment is quite different from that in the past.Eco-translatology emphasizes that translators should actively adapt to the translational eco-environment and make adaptive selections according to the principles of three-dimensional transformations.Through this case study, the author holds that the translator has taken into account the transformations in linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions and flexibly used translation strategies such as paraphrasing, addition, subtraction and annotation, which not only maintain the source language ecology, but also increase the readability of the translation and achieve the purpose of cultural communication.
