With the increasing frequency of China's foreign exchanges, political texts play a crucial role in the process of China's entry into the world stage.Xi Jinping: The Governance of China? includes Xi Jinping's essential talks, conversations, speeches, and congratulatory messages during 2014 ~ 2017,which fully elaborated the Chinese leaders' strategies in the governance of one country and Chinese wisdom of the Communist Party of China in promoting the construction of a community of shared future for mankind, covering political, economic, cultural and diplomatic fields. There are many Chinese-specific words used to express Chinese unique things and phenomena in this book. These words are concise in wording and abundant in meaning. Therefore, accurate translation of Chinese-specific words has an essential impact on strengthening China's external publicity and cultural exchanges.Eco-translatology is a theory that studies translation activities from the perspective of ecology. It refers to the translator's adaptive selection based on adaptation to the translational eco-environment.The translator plays a leading role in translation activities and also makes the adaptive selection from the perspective of three-dimensional transformation,so as to make the translation achieve “the optimal degree of holistic adaptation and selection”.So Eco-translatology provides a new perspective for translation studies. This study selects the translation of Chinese-specific words in Xi Jinping: The Governance of China ? as research materials and analyzes how translators adapt to translational eco-environment,as well as what translation methods are adopted by translators in linguistic dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension in order to make translation achieve the best effects. The results are shown as follows: 1.Translators adapt to translational eco-environment from two aspects: one aspect refers to the translators' adaptation to inner translational eco-environment such as translators' translational competence, professional competence, communicative competence, responsibility and so on;the other aspect is the translator's adaptation to the outer translational eco-environment including source language, target language, culture and readers,etc.2.Translators make transformations from linguistic dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension by using various translation methods to achieve adaptive selection:(1)In linguistic dimension, translators adopt the literal translation, free translation, literal translation with annotation, paraphrase to realize the content transformation from lexical, syntactic and rhetorical level.(2)In cultural dimension, translators apply literal translation, free translation, omission and paraphrase to avoid cultural conflicts from material culture, ecological culture, linguistic culture and social culture level.(3)In communicative dimension, translators use literal translation, free translation to convey communicative intention. The purpose of this study is to provide references for the C-E translation of political texts from the perspective of Eco-translatology and to be helpful for the translation of Chinese-specific words in political texts.
