The translation material is taken from the first three chapters of The Ultimate Guide to Project Management, which was written by the Zapier Team and published in 2016.The source text mainly introduces some popular project management systems and related knowledge in the field of project management, which enable the readers to quickly understand the terminologies of the project management field and how to deal with the problems in project management. The Ultimate Guide to Project Management belongs to the category of scientific and technical English, with professional words and logical language structures. In order to reproduce the style characteristics of the source text in the translation practice, the corresponding translation methods are adopted under the guidance of Skopos theory.Skopos theory,Hans-Josef Vermeer's representative theory,is the theory on which the translation practice is based. The typical cases in the first three chapters of The Ultimate Guide to Project Management are analyzed from the three rules of Skopos theory—skopos rule, coherence rule, and fidelity rule, and the translation methods of amplification, omission, conversion, division, literal translation and liberal translation are adopted,in order to make the readers feel the purpose, logic and specific information to be conveyed in the source text.Through case analysis, the understanding of the project management field has been deepened, and how to flexibly adopt the corresponding translation methods to achieve skopos, coherence and fidelity has also been learned. In the process of the translation practice, the problems encountered have been analyzed and the solutions have been proposed to provide some reference value for the future translation of such scientific and technical text.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 31...
