Recently,both our country and our society pay more and more attention to the mental health of teenagers,at the same time,they ask a higher requirement for it.The society expects to improve the mental health of teenagers by mental health education.Because the development of teenagers’ mentality is special and their pressure is so big,the mental health education is becoming a key part during this period.So,this research is going to test whether the sandplay group can improve the level of self-compassion of senior high school students or not.Self-compassion is a supportive,tolerant attitude toward oneself,and does not isolate oneself.Self-compassion requires individuals to look at their experiences from a broader perspective and to see their pain in a more open manner.To improve the self-compassion level of high school students is helpful to promote the development of their self-consciousness and improve their mental health level.At the same time,this study can also explore a more effective way of mental health education for high school students.Firstly,this research uses questionnaire to investigate senior high school students who are from Nanchong Middle School.Secondly,combining self-compassion researches,the theory about teenager development with sandplay group therapy.Using sandplay group to help the students who are with low self-compassion level.Thirdly,evaluating the effectiveness of the sandplay group.Furthermore,we can discuss the effectiveness and feasibility of using sandplay group to increase the level of self-compassion.In this way,to provide new forms to strengthen Mental health education for middle school students.Using <self-compassion Scale,SCS> as tool to measure,choose and evaluate the students.With the help of the headteacher and Psychological association,this research chooses students whose questionnaire scores are lower to the 1.5 standard deviation as testee.(28 students).Then,dividing them into experimental group and control group.Using sandplay group to intervene the experimental group for 6 weeks.(once a week).At the same time,doing nothing to the control group.After the experiment,using the questionnaire to test both experimental group and control group,and interviewingthe students who are from experimental group one by one.After 1 month,using the same questionnaire to test the experimental group again.In the end,analyzing all of the datas and the results are as follows:(1)The average scores of the self-compassion and its factors are higher than 3which means the self-compassion of senior high school students is at above-average level.(2)There are obvious distinctive differences between senior high school students in gender,grade,parenting style,academic record and only child or not.(3)The sandplay group which is aiming to self-compassion can increase the level of self-compassion,self-kindness factor and common humanity factor and the effectiveness can last a long time.
