Negation is a grammatical and semantic category shared by human languages.Negation plays an important role in both Chinese and Igbo language.Through the Analysis of negation,we can better understand the main characteristics of Chinese and Igbo language,especially the characteristics of Chinese.Contrastive Analysis is an important method of language research.This paper uses the method of comparative Analysis to investigate the category of negation in Chinese and Igbo language,and on the basis of comparative Analysis to explore the enlightenment of this Analysis on the teaching of negation in TCFL.In this paper,through classroom exercises,workbooks and students’ tests,we got the mastery of Chinese negative sentences of Chinese learners whose mother tongue is Igbo,and analyze them.The first chapter is the introduction.This chapter first reviews the previous research results of negative words and sentences,points out the research basis of this paper,introduces the research theories and methods adopted in this paper,and defines the concepts of negative words and sentences.The second chapter mainly describes the negative markers and negation types in Chinese and Igbo language.Two types of negative sentences,general negation and imperative negation,are summed up.The third chapter analyzes the errors of Igbo language learners,and then puts forward teaching strategies for teachers and students.The fifth chapter is the summary of the whole paper.It compares and summarizes the characteristics of Chinese and Igbo language negative sentences,and points out the problems and deficiencies in this Analysis,as well as some problems to be solved.
