Since the beginning of 20 th century,scholars from the western world started studying Gold Vase Plum,from its original author,versions,and origins to its types of writing,structure,artistic features and up-to-date studies into film and television art,reading perspective and other research fields,thus adding endless artistic charm to it to a large extent.Because the study of Gold Vase Plum by the English-speaking world was mostly limited to scattered introductory comments from the early 1900 s to the 1960 s,this paper takes different directions for the development of the study of Gold Vase Plum in the English-speaking world after the 1960 s.Clues,sorting out the research status of the three major sections about textual research,text narration and the trend of change at different stages.The thesis also makes a systematical analysis of the features and ways of the studies,approving of their contribution to academic study about Gold Vase Plum.The first part is textual research,which is chapter 1.This part analyzes features on textual research of studies on Gold Vase Plum between 1960 to 1980 from the western world.The author chooses the representational research findings by Sinologist Patrick Hanan and David T.Roy including the testing of its author,methods of writing as well as the relations between its different versions,providing good points that might be useful to the young generation when they get down to study it.The second part is text narration,which is chapter 2.This section deals with the narrative features of the English world in the study of Gold Vase Plum from the 1980 s to the end of the 20 th century.The author select research findings by Chih-tsing Hsia and Andrew H.Plaks.The former believes it to be a popular fiction,while the later a scholar's novel.By comparing their different views on Gold Vase Plum,the paper reveals theunderstanding of its text narration from the western world.The third part is the trend of change at different stages,which is chapter 3.This part summarizes changes in the studies on Gold Vase Plum on its study aspects,from narration,textual research to wider research fields since the end of 20 th century.The nine articles selected by the author are all new materials,which involve the three major parts of film and television art,reading perspective,and clothing grades,and briefly comment on their content and characteristics in order to have a simple control over the academic research of the English world Gold Vase Plum.
