| The Ming dynasty blue and white plum vase is a precious porcelain vessel made in China,and is celebrated for its varied forms.Some are dignified and elegant,some are slender and straight,and some are simple and unadorned,being a symbol of ancient Chinese civilization and one of the cultural treasures of the Chinese nation.At present,the‘National Trend’ is becoming increasingly popular,behind which is the profound cultural heritage of the Chinese nation,the creative transformation and innovative development of the excellent Chinese traditional culture,and the profound cultural confidence and national identity.As the inheritance and external carrier of traditional Chinese culture,the Ming dynasty blue and white plum vase has received increasing attention as a symbol of Chinese‘National Trend’ in modern design,giving people a sense of pride and the power of cultural confidence.Therefore,this thesis intends to conduct a systematic study on modeling and ornamental symbolic features of Ming dynasty blue and white plum vases,with the aim of extracting and modeling ornamental symbolic elements of Ming dynasty blue and white plum vases,and formulating relevant strategic suggestions for applying the cultural and artistic charm of Ming dynasty blue and white plum vases in modern design,in order to further promote the high-quality development of the ‘National Trend’ in the new era.Firstly,based on the theory and methodology of design semiotics,the study focuses on the traditional cultural connotation,aesthetic value and ideology of the Ming dynasty blue and white plum blossom vase in terms of its form,structure,function,colour,material and other relevant constituent elements under the ‘interpretation’ of the symbols.The project explores the functions and characteristics of the symbols,classifies the symbols,and establishes a three-dimensional spatial modeling linear library of Ming dynasty blue and white plum bottles.Secondly,using literature search,case comparison and physical observation methods,this thesis considers the wide variety of decorative motifs on Ming dynasty blue and white plum vases,the logic and meaning of the main and secondary motifs,and the distinctive characteristics of the symbols.This thesis focuses on the representation and semantic transmission of the typical main and secondary ornamental symbols of Ming dynasty blue and white plum blossom vases,summarizing the core semantics of the main ornamental symbols and the background semantics of the secondary ornamental symbols,proposing ideas for the reproducibility of the semantics of the ornamental symbols,and including their corresponding levels of transcription and reconstruction.Finally,as the inheritance and external carrier of the traditional Chinese blue and white porcelain culture,the Ming dynasty blue and white plum vase should take up the responsibility and mission of representing the Chinese ‘National Trend’ symbols,be combined with the line extraction of the three-dimensional spatial shape of the Ming dynasty blue and white plum vase and the systematic translation of its typical motifs,and construct the modular application of the visual art symbols of the Ming dynasty blue and white plum vase.Based on the material used to construct the modular application of the visual art symbols of the Ming dynasty blue and white plum blossom vase,the artist considers the impact of the Ming dynasty blue and white plum blossom vase shape and ornamentation symbols on modern design,and further proposes strategies for the visual art symbols of the Ming dynasty blue and white plum blossom vase on modern design in the spirit of the times,new technologies and experiential space and time,in order to continuously promote the high-quality development of the Ming dynasty blue and white plum blossom vase shape and ornamentation symbols in the cultural industry in the new era.The exhibition also provides relevant reference ideas for the application and translation of the entire ceramic community in China. |
