The Research On Biographies Written By Yuan Mei

Writing biographies has a long history in China.Commemorate important events,honor ancestors and understanding individual life and its times��the function of the Biography is constantly changing,but the structure and content of the article are gradually fixed during the change.Narrative gradually formed as the center,with a certain style and aesthetic characteristics specification of literature.Therefore,the biography text is both important historical documents,also has artistic value,research value.In the Qing Dynasty,many biographies can be found in Jibu's literatures.Among them,Yuan Mei's biographies are often questioned and criticized for the wrong information and exaggerated language However,there has been no systematic verification and data collation of this issue.In order to explore the actual situation and possible misunderstanding,in this research using personal information as a clue,integrate historical materials,Jibu and other literature data.Utilizing research methods such as comparative research,chronology,and literature analysis,verifies the authenticity of the basic information,deeds,friendships,and public opinion mentioned in the article,and then clarify the correlation between characters and events,analyze the causes of the linguistic art and style of his articles.This thesis consists of four parts.The first part clarifies the concept and defines the scope of the research.The second part uses ancient materials to investigate the information.The third part is the comparison and analysis of the similar articles.The fourth part is the summary of the characteristics of the article and the analysis of its causes.Based on the research,it can be seen that there are omissions and errors in the information of the biographies written by Yuan Mei,and he has revised some errors in the text;Secondly,the relationship between Yuan Mei and some of the characters he wrote is not as close as described in his article;Thirdly,the characters written by Yuan Mei mainly come from his circles.Comparing the historical biography and Jibu articles of the same period,we can see that in the narrative of the article,the biographies written by Yuan Mei put more emphasis on the portrayal of the characters.Yuan Mei's article is centered on characters,which is clearly different from historical biography with events as the center.The vivid and popular language is a major feature that distinguishes Yuan Mei's biography from that of his contemporaries.Based on the above analysis,this research believes that Yuan Mei's creative psychology lies in expressing personal emotions through the experience of others.The reason of the characteristics of his biographies lies in his literary talent and national feelings.Finally,this research puts forward different views on the criticism that Yuan Mei's article is false and strange because of economic interests.To summarize,the most important feature of Yuan Mei's biographies is to spread by impressing people.His articles have distinctive literary characteristics.It also reflects Yuan Mei's cognition and requirements for literature that literature as an independent discipline,literature has its own value and literature has its own development pattern.
