This is a report on English-Chinese translation practice. It is based on the eighth and nine parts of the novel Eating People Is Wrong written by Malcolm Bradbury.Eating People Is Wrong is an absurd comedy novel depicting the daily life of a British local university. The entire story is based on Treece,a college professor. The novel tells about things that happened between him and his students, his colleagues, and his friends.Bradbury described the personality of the protagonist through the description of the plot and portrayed Treece as an idealist with a strong romantic color. This report on translation is divided into four parts, translation task description, translation process description, translation case analysis and report on a translation summary. This article has many long sentences and some proverbs, which is the difficulty of this translation practice. The translation case analysis is the core part of the translation practice report, taking the sentences in the text as the object of analysis, based on the functional equivalence theory, using translation methods and strategies to solve the problems encountered in translation practice. In this regard, the author uses the naturalization alienation method, the access data method, the split method, etc.to carry out translation practice.
