Translation Quality Assessment Of Military Documentary Text Based On Multidimensional Quality Metrics

Chinese translation market is booming at present,but the lack of standard,means and model of assessment is still the biggest problem.The purpose of translation quality assessment is to find a more accurate and objective method to evaluate various types of texts,especially the comparison between the source and the target texts.Therefore,the assessment of translation quality needs to establish a set of quality assessment models which include a complete,objective and highly operational assessment criteria and parameter system to evaluate target texts from various aspects.The translation of military documentary text is quite difficult,which means translators should be highly professional and knowledgeable.However,the quality of the translation of such texts is uneven.Consequently,the assessment of military texts also lacks a complete set of measurement system,which is the focus of this research.From the perspective of applying Multidimensional Quality Metrics(MQM)translation quality assessment of military texts,this thesis integrates the assessment system into the assessment method of the translation of military texts,so as to make the translation quality assessment of such text more scientific and systematic.Based on the research on translation quality assessment at home and abroad,this thesis introduces different systems,and further explains the options and use of specific assessment methods.In the research,with a selected section of military texts,raters are chosen to complete the quality assessment under the MQM and to record the assessment process in detail.Through the analysis of the assessment results and the comparison with other assessment systems in aspects including the translator's subjective feelings and assessment time,the feasibility and effectiveness of the system can be tested.The research can help translation assessors an accurate and feasible assessment method for the assessment of the translation of military texts.At the same time,according to the assessment results,translators can find out the problems in the translation and improve the quality of translation,which in turn can promote the development of translation teaching to a certain extent.
