In recent years,the world pays more and more attention to creativity,creativity has become one of the necessary qualities of talents in the 21st century.At the same time,creativity is seen as an important development goal at all stages of education However,the level of creativity development of primary school students in China is not optimistic.The primary school stage is the key period for the development of children's creativity.In English language teaching,activities can be created to arouse students' curiosity and imagination,and encourage students to try boldly and develop their creativity.Based on the present situation of students' creativity in primary school English class,this thesis takes 30 students from the third grade in a public primary school in Beijing as the participants,adopts the action research method,explores the methods and strategies of cultivating students' creativity in primary school English teaching through a 12-week two rounds of action research.This thesis defines creativity as the ability of primary school students to ask questions,express views,and complete personalized tasks.The qualitative data were collected by classroom observation,teaching journal,interview,test.The participants were measured creative tendency and creative thinking before and after the action research,so as to compare the development and changes of their creativity,and to further support the results of this action research.After analyzing qualitative data and quantitative data,it is found that in primary school English teaching,teachers can improve the creativity of primary school students by changing traditional teaching methods,creating a harmonious classroom atmosphere,encouraging students to ask questions and express their views,setting up personalized tasks,and creating information class.This thesis has some enlightenment significance for cultivating students' creativity in primary school English teaching.
