With the development of economic and cultural exchanges between China and Tajikistan,the number of Chinese language learners in Tajikistan has also grown comparatively.Chinese schools in Tajikistan generally use Chinese textbooks with Russian annotations.Tajikistan Chinese learners rely on the Russian textbook annotations greatly,therefore the quality of chinese will affect the quality of learners’progress to some extent.For this thesis,the primary textbook of "New Practical Chinese" Volume 1(Russian version)has been chosen as a starting point for this research.This thesis shows that the problems in Chinese textbooks are very much related to indigenization.The indigenization of teaching materials mainly refers to the integration of local culture,customs and folk sentiments of regions or localities into the editing of teaching materials,so as to obtain teaching materials suitable for local use.The purpose of this thesis is to carry out research on Chinese textbooks,combined with the historical development of Tajikistan,the integrating of Chinese textbooks with the local culture of the country,and try to find a more optimal combination of language and culture,so that people in this country can improve the overall learning efficiency of the Chinese language.However,at this stage,the Chinese textbooks published by the country are mainly translations,yet the differences between the two countries will consequently have corresponding differences in cultural connotation and cultural knowledge.At this point,it is necessary to analyze the indigenization-related problems in the Chinese teaching materials and effectively solve them.This thesis starts with the premise that the indigenization problems of Chinese textbooks studied in Tajikistan appear because the research on this aspect has not been thoroughly conducted.Therefore,we intend to study the problems related to the indigenization of textbooks,clarify the problems that occur in the country’s learning from Chinese textbooks,conduct a comprehensive analysis of the problems,and propose targeted solutions.This thesis takes the Chinese textbooks of the TajikistanNational Language Institute as an example to examine the specific teaching content in the Chinese textbooks of Tajikistan.The thesis is divided into several major chapters.The first part includes the research purpose and significance of this article,the current situation of the indigenization of textbooks,and the results of previous studies.The second chapter is an analysis of the data obtained from a survey regarding the current situation of the use of textbooks.Through the literature review,questionnaire survey and interview methods,a review of the research on Chinese textbooks in Tajikistan is conducted.In addition,the statistics and analysis of the results of the questionnaire are conducted to find out the existing problems.The third chapter is the analysis of the survey and of the Chinese textbooks currently used in Tajikistan,as well as a summary of the results of the survey interviews.The format,content structure,and translation model were analyzed in detail from the perspective of the indigenization of textbooks,and suggestions which may help improve the quality of local textbooks are given.The fourth part gives some suggestions for improvement,and the fifth part is composed of the conclusions related to the research conducted in this thesis.Through the elaboration and analysis of the problems,the opinions which may lead to an optimization of the locally published textbooks proposed in this article are that the compilation of textbooks needs to be based more on the content of the textbooks,to have the content boundaries clarified,to have its content standards better defined,and to combine the untique local characteristics and the environment,therefore laying a solid foundation for people in Tajikistan to learn Chinese.
