The establishment of “SCO”(Shanghai Cooperation Organization)and the implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s “The Belt and Road” initiative have led to a “Chinese fever” in Tajikistan.The two most famous public universities in Tajikistan,Tajikistan national linguistics institute and Tajikistan-Russian Slavic University,both offer five-year undergraduate teaching in Chinese language,and there are numerous private Chinese language training institutions and intermediaries in addition.Although there are formal teaching institutions and a complete teaching system in Tajikistan,there are still many flaws in Chinese teaching.First,the problem of“three teachings”: Looking at the Chinese teaching in Tajikistan,there is a general lack of teaching materials,weak and uneven teachers,old-fashioned teaching methods,and the latest teaching research results are not applied to the practice of Chinese teaching in a timely and comprehensive manner.These problems hinder the development of students’ communicative ability in Chinese.Second,the pattern and grade of Chinese language teaching in Tajikistan need to be improved.Culture teaching is an important content and fundamental goal of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,but in practice,the cultural teaching tasks specified and required by the teaching materials are not easily accomplished.Thematic Teaching Method was first proposed by American educator Morrison,based on constructivist theory,multiple intelligence theory,meaningful learning theory and language input hypothesis theory,and is now generally accepted in Chinese teaching in China and abroad.The Thematic Teaching Method,with its low dependence on textbooks and high teaching flexibility,can effectively improve the quality of Chinese teaching,especially the teaching of Chinese culture,and it has significant advantages when applied to the Chinese teaching in Tajikistan national linguistics institute.This thesis starts from the pedagogical reform and designs three different teaching examples of “traditional festival” “diet” and “birthday” based on the application process of Thematic Teaching Method.And selected two parallel classes from the fifth grade of the Chinese major of the Tajikistan national linguistics institute for teaching experiments.The results of the test show that the experimental class outperforms the control class in general.Through theoretical analysis and practical exploration,it is proved that the application of the Thematic Teaching Method to Chinese teaching in Tajikistan can effectively solve the current problems.The Thematic Teaching Method can improve the limitation of local Chinese teaching materials;help improve teachers’ own quality and promote the orderly development of teaching;improve students’ knowledge of Chinese culture;and promote the development of students’ communicative skills.The Thematic Teaching Method provides a new teaching idea and teaching method for Chinese teaching in Tajikistan.Finally,this thesis reflects on the application of the Thematic Teaching Method,with a view to further improving it in the subsequent teaching. |
