| Garcia Marquez has built a world full of unnatural elements with distinct narrative strategies in his masterpiece One Hundred Years of Solitude.Based on unnatural narrative theory of Jan Alber,Monika Fludernik,Brain Richardson and other scholars,this thesis analyzes the unnatural narratives in One Hundred Years of Solitude.In addition,this thesis explores profound ideological connotation that Marquez expresses through unnatural narrative strategies.The main part of this thesis can be divided into three aspects.First,this thesis combines unnatural narrative with reality together to interpret the unnatural space and time in One Hundred Years of Solitude.Second,by applying reading strategies this thesis analyzes the unnatural existence in the novel and interprets the solitude that Marquez wants to express by depicting the Non-exist characters.Third,this thesis analyzes the unnatural behaviors and features in the novel,and further explains the solitude of the Buendia family from generation to generation.Through the textual analysis of One Hundred Years of Solitude,we can find that Marquez dares to break natural minds of conventional narrative.With the help of unnatural narrative strategies,he highlights the theme of solitude strongly through the unnatural narratives of the time,space,characters and behaviors in the story world.The solitude in the novel is mainly embodied in the solitude and closure of geographical environment of the town of Macondo and Latin America,and the spiritual solitude of the Buendia family and the Latin American people.In addition,the interpretation with unnatural narrative theory provides a new perspective for the study of One Hundred Years of Solitude. |
