Nearly 20 years have passed since the 21 st century. As one of the most important narrative works in the 20 th century, the status and features of One Hundred Years of Solitude have become more and more distinct.Because of the redefinition of magic and reality in the narrative, both the expression of the prototype and the constant part of the personal spiritual history and the reflection of Latin American history, this work has the possibility of being constantly read and new,and the theme of its polysemy is constantly multiplied in the interpretation.Based on the study of animals and plants in One Hundred Years of Solitude, this paper uses Postcolonial ecocriticism as the research method and breakthrough point to discover the changes and impacts of the real Latin American ecosystem in the past hundred years, and then to discover the ecological reality of Latin America in the narrative of One Hundred Years of Solitude. There are five parts in this paper. The first part is the introduction which to make clear the reason and significance of choosing the topic, the present situation and the research method. The second part focuses on the text of the novel, outlines the town Macondo's ecosystem, and this ecosystem changes after a single planting of banana. The third part begins with the plant banana, which is the focus of the novel,to analyze how the plantation economy works, and the ecological disaster and slaughter consequence brought about by the plant. In the fourth part, from the perspective of Columbus Exchange,we can see that the species and reproduction of animals in Macondo coincide with the species and reproduction of animals in Latin American biological history. In the last part, the results of the previous study are summarized. Then we understand this text from animal and plant imagery,we get to know Marquez as a naturalist and discover One Hundred Years of Solitude which reflects the ecological history of Latin America.
