A Report On The English-Chinese Translation Of China Confronts Climate Change In The Guidance Of The Translation Variation Theory

In the context of globalization,the countries are linked increasingly closely.And climate change has become the focus of attention around the world.As the fastest-growing economy in the developing country in the world,China’s environmental governance policies attract worldwide attention,which is of great significance for the world to cope with climate change.China Confronts Climate Change is chosen as the text of the practice report.It is a popular scientific text,with characteristics of rigorous structure,clear logic and objective language.Chinese and English belong to different language systems.So,it is necessary to grasp the sentence structure and semantic expression between English-Chinese translation.Based on the above three points,under the guidance of translation variation theory,the thesis analyzes the structural splitting and word order reorganization of the text with four flexible means: supplement,deletion,edition,rewriting.This report stresses to summarize the methods and techniques of translation.Firstly,this report describes the content of the task.Secondly,it introduces the processes of translation,and then it analyzes the application of translation variation theory in the popular scientific text.Finally,it summarizes the practical process of translation.This thesis aims to study the Chinese translation skills of popular scientific texts.The translator hopes the thesis will do a little effort for addressing to climate change by translating the text.At the same time,the translator hopes to broaden the translator’s research vision of climate change related texts through this translation practice,and to accumulate valuable experience for future translation practice.
